Jerzy Skolimowski on the jury, a special guest Peter Weir, new sections and competitions, specialist workshops – the 4th OFF PLUS CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema will be held in Kraków from 8 to 17 April.
An Independent KrakówThe festival aims at presenting the most remarkable and interesting independent films from all over the world; films that won awards at various festivals and amazed the global audience. Most of these pictures will have their Polish premiere in Krakow and, in fact, for some of them it might be also the last screening in Poland.Twelve films will take part in the ‘Making Way’ International Dramatic Competition for the Kraków Film Award of USD 100000. Jerzy Skolimowski is the Chairman of the Jury.

This year a brand new Polish Dramatic Competition will be held for the first tine during the festival. The award – the Polish Film Noble (PLN 100000) – will be given by the international jury.Over 100 foreign filmmakers – directors, actors, screenwriters, producers as well as film critics and journalists – confirmed their participation. The Polish guests will also attend the festival in large numbers.

Apart from the screenings of films, the festival offers trainings, workshops, meetings and Master Class lectures with the honoured guests. The programme includes meetings with Peter Weir and Jerzy Skolimowski, the lectures of a set decorator, Roger Christian (an Academy Award for a set decoration in G. Lucas’s ‘Star Wars), workshops conducted by Ellen Chenoweth, a casting director cooperating with the Coen brothers (‘True Grit’, ‘Burn After Reading’), Clint Eastwood (‘Gran Torino’) and George Clooney (‘Michael Clayton’) as well as a seminar on alternative channels of distribution prepared by Christian Gaines from IMDb, and many more.
