Data publikacji: 2010-10-08
'The Parking, 4 pm' is going to be screened at the student film contest at the XVII Ireneusz Radzio International Independent Film Festival 'Journalism 2010'.
A film from workshops in competitionThe film was recorded in effect of the 7th edition of the Pomeranian Film Workshop, under the artistic custody of Wojciech Marczewski, the famous film director. The selection of actors turned out to be the key stage of the film creation. The participants of this year’s edition were lucky to cast Justyna Bartoszewicz, the actress of Teatr Wybrzerze [The Pomerania Theatre]. It is this role that gave 'The Parking' its distinctness, says Jurek Rados, the initiator and coordinator of the Pomeranian Film Workshop.

The 'Journalism' festival is a unique event devoted to the promotion of film journalism. Apart from the screening of independent movies and reviewing the trends in this area, the festival is focused on events helping to understand the art of filmmaking, such us workshops, meetings and discussions. The festival films touch upon topical issues in the field of social, political, economic and cultural interest. They document subjects that are exceptionally interesting, moving or even controversial. Therefore, they constitute perfect points of departure for discussion or debate after each screening.

The rank of the festival, the involvement of the organisers, the number of submitted films and the number of viewers grow every year. The festival managers are putting much effort into raising interest in cinematography among young viewers and integrating the European film-making communities. In 2004, the International Independent Film Union UNICA assumed patronage over the festival. This year the jury consists of: Stanisław Puls [The chairman of the Jury] – the good spirit of the review, a UNICA member, Monika Kuczyniecka – artist, creator of animations and music videos, Witold Kon – Polish independent film movement activist, Paweł Dutkalski – head of the distribution at Warner Bros Poland, Tomasz Drozdowicz – film and TV director and Piotr Zawojski – senior lecturer at the Cinema and Media Understanding Department at the Silesian University in Katowice.

The festival is supported among others by the Independent Filmmakers Federation, International Independent Film Union UNICA and the Polish Film Institute.

The festival will be held between 22 and 24 October. 'The Parking, 4 pm' will be screened on 23 October at 2 pm at the Chemik House of Culture in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
